Youth Tennis Opportunities

This page summarizes tennis opportunities available to youth in the Mid-Ohio Valley area.

Select Sundays are set aside for recreation tennis matches hosted by MOVTA from 2-4pm at the Parkersburg City Park. All skills levels are welcome but rally experience and score knowledge is needed to play a match. If you haven’t registered yet or would like more details, select the ‘Learn More’ button below!

Recreational Matches

There are two options for summer tennis programs in this area, both are organized by recreation commissions: Vienna Rec and Wood County Rec. For more information on those programs, select the respective button below.

Summer Tennis Programs

Clinics are organized practices available throughout the year both indoor and outdoor. Indoor clinics are available at the Greenmont Racquet Club (select button below to be directed to their website).

Clinics (Indoor and Outdoor)

Power Point Tennis is a merit based program sponsored by MOVTA. Skills improvement is the goal for these young players as they earn points. The points that they earn will ultimately pay (thanks to generous local sponsors) their way into winter indoor tennis.

Schools throughout the counties of our region have tennis teams. The middle school season is in the fall while the high school tennis season is in the spring. Middle school teams play regular season matches as well as end of season county tournaments. High school teams play regular season matches as well as conference, regional and state tournaments.
